Evaluation Process

Aurora always tries to implement reforms in all academic endeavours in teaching learning and evaluation as well. The Business School has a transparent and robust evaluation system. The Academic Council regularly monitors the Evaluation Process adopted by the institution and makes necessary updations in the process to keep pace with the latest happenings in the national and international scenarios.

The Business School adopts two types of evaluation:

  • Continuous Evaluation (CE) with 70% weightage of the total marks assigned to a course and
  • Quarter End Evaluation (QEE) with another 30% weightage of the marks.

1. CONTINUOUS EVALUATION

The Continuous Evaluation (CE) consists of evaluation of student learning through student reflection, evaluation of interactive teaching learning methods through performance assessment, evaluation of experiential learning through seminars, presentations and reports, evaluation of supplementary teaching methods through reports. The maximum marks allotted for Continuous Evaluation is 70 for all the courses of the program.

1.1 Theory Courses (Maximum: 40 Marks)

  • All the theory courses are evaluated for a maximum of 40 Marks for Student Reflection.
  • The student observation in the form of student journal shall be evaluated for 10 Marks In each course.
  • Preparation of abstract concept present edby the students shall be evaluated for a maximum of 15 Marks for each of the course.
  • The practice of the concept by the students has to be presented in the form of a report and shall be evaluated for a maximum of 15 Marks per each course.

1.2 Interactive Teaching Learning (Maximum: 25 Marks)

The Interactive teaching learning is assessed through presentations and discussion for various activities as per the details given below. The components of ITL shall carry a total marks of 25 which will be added to the theory marks to calculate the total marks of the Continuous evaluation in that particular course. ITL shall be evaluated for all theory courses except for the courses that have laboratory/practicals.

1.3 Practical/Laboratory Courses (Maximum: 25Marks)

  • For continuous internal evaluation of courses with practicals/laboratory sessions (these shall not have ITL evaluation), a maximum of 2 marks is allotted for each lab session summing up to 20marks (for10 sessions) in a Quarter.
  • A maximum of 5 marks are allotted to internal lab examination which is conducted during the last week of instruction in a Quarter.

1.4 Supplementary Teaching (Max: 5Marks)

Attendance with a maximum of 5 marks as detailed below:

1.5 Quarter End Evaluation

Quarter End Evaluation (QEE) is conducted as per the prescribed pattern of examination for all the prescribed courses with a maximum of 30 marks per course.

1.5.1 Theory Courses (Max 30 Marks)

The question paper for Quarter end evaluation for theory subjects consists of 5 short answer questions with 2 marks each and 4 essay questions with 5 marks each.

1.5.2 Capstone Project (Max 80Marks)

  • The Capstone Project shall be evaluated for a maximum of 80 marks in the Quarter End Evaluation.
  • There shall be maximum of 70Marks for Project Report.
  • There shall be a Maximum of 10 Marks for the comprehensive viva voce examination.
